Why Did Adam Sandler Leave Hotel Transylvania 4? Here’s Why the Actor Quit before the Finale
It was recently made official that Adam Sandler left Hotel Transylvania 4 and will not return as Count Dracula. Adam Sandler’s departure from the Hotel Transylvania franchise right before the film’s final installment has left fans shocked all around the world. It has been officially confirmed that Adam Sandler will not reprise his role as Count Dracula for Hotel Transylvania 4: Transformania that is set to be released around the end of July. Sandler departs from the Hotel Transylvania franchise after playing the role for nearly nine years, since 2012. The new role of Count Dracula has been taken up by Brian Hull, who has previously voiced the character in a Hotel Transylvania short film, Monster Pets. Sony has not confirmed the reason behind Adam’s departure so far. On the other hand, Adam Sandler has not commented on the issue either. Therefore, why Adam Sandler decided to leave Hotel Transylvania 4 is still officially unknown. Although fans are already feeling the absence of Sandler after the release of the official trailer, creators Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon does not seem to be sharing the same feelings. In a recent press statement, Derek has mentioned that as Dracula turns into a human in the final film, it gave the makers a good opportunity to try something different with the characters. Derek stated that the change in the voice role would make Dracula’s onscreen transformation more natural. Jennifer also shared that embracing the difference in the role offscreen while the character is being changed onscreen appeared to be a great opportunity. The director of the first three films in the franchise, Genndy Tartakovsky has previously shared about having certain creative conflicts with Adam but we cannot conclude that as the official reason behind Sandler’s exit. Sandler has also served as the executive producer of the first three films of the Hotel Transylvania franchise. However, he is also not associated with the production of Hotel Transylvania 4 anymore. Regardless of Adam Sandler’s reason for exit from Hotel Transylvania 4, it can certainly be said that he will be deeply missed as the voice behind Count Dracula.
