Early and Personal Life:
Salman was born on 27th December 1965 in Indore, India. He was born to Salim Khan and Sushila Charak (who later took the name Salma Khan). His father was a screenwriter. He has two brothers, Sohail Khan and Arbaz Khan and two sisters, Alvira Khan Agnihotri and an adopted sister Arpita. He is the eldest amongst all. Salman went to St. Stanislaus High School of Bandra. He was doing his graduation from St. Xavier’s College but dropped out later on. Salman is not married yet but his relationships have been quite controversial. In the early 1990s, Salman was dating Sangeeta Bijlani and Somy Ali, who are both former actresses. He was dating former Miss World and actress Aishwarya Rai but they separated in 2001. After that, he was rumored to be dating Katrina Kaif. In 2011, Katrina made a public announcement saying that she had been dating him for several years but the relationship ended in 2010. For the past several years, Salman is said to be dating Romanian actress Iulia Vantur since 2012.
Career:
Salman’s debut film was ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’ which was released in 1988 where he played a supporting role. His first movie in the lead role was ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ in 1989 under the direction of Sooraj Barjatya. The film was a blockbuster at that time and was commercially very successful. The film even got him a nomination for Best Actor and Best Male Debut at Filmfare. He starred in many movies after that like ‘Baaghi: A Rebel for Love’, ‘Patthar Ke Phool’, ‘Sanam Bewafa’, and many more. In 2009, Salman starred in Prabhu Deva’s film ‘Wanted’ which gained mixed reviews from people. The movie marked Salman’s commercial success and he went on to do two other movies that year, ‘London Dreams’ and ‘Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna’. He played the role of “Chulbul Pandey”, a police officer in the movie ‘Dabangg’ in 2010. The film got a special appreciation from The Economic Times for its commercial success. He gave many hit movies after that like ‘Ready’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Bodyguard’, and many more. Salman’s most successful movie has been ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ which was released in 2017 as the film has earned $57 million. His most recent movie was ‘Dabangg 3’ which was released in December 2019. The movie was a flop but earned approximately $14 million.

Salman Khan has won many awards in the Bollywood industry. The list is very long. He has won different awards like National Film Awards, Filmfare Awards, Star Screen Awards, IIFA Awards, and many more. Controversies:
Hit-and-Run Case:
Being a part of the Bollywood industry for the past 31 years, Salman has been a part of many controversies. In 2002, Salman was taken into custody for rash driving into a bakery which led to the death of a person sleeping on pavement and injury of three others. Salman was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years of prison. His driver Ashok Singh, who claimed that he was driving the care that day was charged with perjury and misguiding the Court and was arrested too. During this case, a police constable Ravindra Patil was abducted and died eventually who was the prime suspect. His death till date remains a mystery.
Aishwarya Rai Harassment:
After his breakup with Aishwarya Rai, Salman was not able to get over her. He started pestering her by calling her again and again. Aishwarya’s parents even lodged an official police complaint against him. A call recording was also released in which Salman could be heard treating Aishwarya to attend with him social events held by Mumbai’s biggest crime figures. However, the recording was deemed as fake later on.
BlackBuck Case of 1998:
In 1998, during the shoot of the movie ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’, the cast went on hunting in the forests near Jodhpur. He had to spend a week in the Jodhpur jail in 2007 before being granted bail by the court. Besides, poaching of endangered antelopes, Salman was also charged for keeping guns and ammunition illegally even though his license had expired. The case goes on to date and Salman has not been proved guilty by the prosecution yet.
Influencing Careers:
Recently, the TV turned movie actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide. On this, Abhinav Kashyap(director) accused Salman Khan and his family of sabotaging the careers of many other actors and directors. Late actress Jiah Khan’s mother also stated Salman responsible for her daughter’s death by influencing her career. A lawyer lodged a criminal complaint against Salman along with Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and 4 others. The lawyer states that these people did not allow Sushant’s movies to be released and also boycotted him by not inviting him to film functions. This was a planned conspiracy against him which lead to the suicide but amounts to a murder of the brilliant young actor Sushant.

Salman Khan’s net worth is estimated to be approximately $310 million. The primary source of his income is being an actor, producer, singer, and television presenter. He also earns from the endorsement deals he has with different brands like Pepsi, Revital, Relaxo, and many more. Salman is also the owner of the Being Human clothing line. Being Human clothing does not earn profits from sales. But instead, it is a charitable trust that spends on initiatives like education and healthcare of the underprivileged people.
