Naomi Osaka was born on 16th October 1997, in Osaka Japan. She was born to Tamaki Osaka and Leonard Francois. She has an elder sister Mari Osaka, who is a professional tennis player as well. Leonard was interested in teaching his girls tennis after seeing the Williams Sisters play. After they moved to the US and got settled, he started coaching Naomi and Mari. Later on, in 2006, they moved to Florida as they had more opportunities there. She began at ISP Academy when she was only 15 years old. Career:
Naomi never played much in junior-level championships. She played her first match in October 2011 for ITF Women’s Circuit. She did not qualify for main draw debut in singles but made it with her sister in main draw debut in doubles. Finally, she qualified for singles in her seventh attempt. After turning 16, she turned professional. She ranked 406 when she was 16. She had her first two qualifying matches as soon as she entered. In 2016, she entered the WTA finals when she was only 18. Although she lost to Caroline Wozniacki, she was in the top 50. She was awarded WTA Newcomer of the Year. She also made her maiden appearance in a Grand Slam in Melbourn.
