Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion production details
Geass is a concept from Welsh folklore, it refers to the obligation some has to do a specific task regardless of its morality. The same idea of duty is reflected in the plot that Ichiro Okouchi & Goro Taniguchi pitched to Yoshitaka Kawaguchi, the producer of this series. The writers had the idea of a story arc in which the hero leads an organization in secrecy, as his rule unfolds, he finds out that there are conflicts inherent to the exercise of power and he becomes conflicted upon his morals. The producers commissioned the famous manga group Clamp to develop the characters. Clamp commissioned the company’s lead artist, Mokona to design the look & feel of this production. The result later got converted into animation by Takahiro Kimura, of Sunrise studios. The music score for the upcoming series in the U.K. was composed by Kotaro Nakagawa & Hitomi Kuroishi, who had worked the producers before in other series. Also, bands like Ali Project, Jinn, Access, FLOW, SunSet Swish & Orange Range provide songs for the opening & closing sequence themes.
