This was announced during the Gamescom Opening Night Live show. He also said that the team had an idea for multiple endings at the start of development. Vondrak also said that deciding there would be many endings might lead to some issues because of which they got the help of Batman movie writer David Goyer, who once worked on the original Black Ops. This game is said to pay homage to the first game and it’s a sequel too which was Black Ops 2 that had multiple endings as well. Vondrak said “When we started creating the story, we had multiple endings in mind right away. And that really helped. I think if you try to add those later, or if they just don’t fit the story you’re telling, then you shouldn’t add them. But we knew right away that we wanted to do that. I absolutely loved the idea that we could pay a little bit of homage to Black Ops 2 by having these. He also said that some stories work well with multiple endings and some of them aren’t but this one was made from the ground up with that in mind. Down below you can see the interview of Vondrak in which he explains all of this.
